Does anyone have any advice on writing a "demoware" program? In other words, I want someone to be able to download my program which would install as a "30-day evaluation". I would then have an option that would pop up a dialog where the user could enter the appropriate information which I would then send off to PayPal, and then send a registration code back to the user after payment confirmation.

Any pointers or links to appropriate documentation would be appreciated. Thanks!

hmm... well, our PayPal Subscriptions product could handle the 30-day eval period as a free trial, and then you could just have a 1-period subscription so that it would only charge the customer once.

info on PayPal Subsctiptions here:

in order to do the registration code, you'd probably want to use IPN to check for the payment from that customer, and then initiate a subsequent action.

other option would be to check our 3rd-party solution directory, and see if anyone is doing this as an add-on service. i think there may be a few options for you under our Digital Goods section:

good luck!
