I have a Problem, if I try to pre-populate my customers Payment Page, it
does show all the customer information, but the Payment amount also becomes
a text box and a customer can change the amount while signup. How do only
fill in the customer info and leave the amount intact.
Does the value passed have to be the same as the Value specified in the initial button creation?.. I'm calculating teh value based on certain parameters a user chooses, does this make a difference?

Also, the syntax is kinda like this...
<input type="hidden" name="amount" value="50.00">

You specify the cost of your subscription in the amount1, amount2, and amount3 fields of the button form. amount1 and amount2 are used for trial periods and amount3 is used for the regular subscription period.

My guess is that since you are specifying the cost of your subscription in "amount", which is not valid, PayPal thinks you are not providing a cost and allowing your subscribers to fill it in.

Hope this helps!
