Wouldn't it be nice if there was an ASP page that simulated the PayPal process for testing?

Set it up for Single Item purchase to keep it simple. Have it display something like the last page the user sees after making a paypal payment. Have it send out the IPN responses. Include an extra post field in the BuyNow button to specify different test scenarios.

A good simulator would probably answer half the questions on this forum.

Thanks

It's not quite that simple but we're researching a solution.

If you want to do something quick and dirty, you can POST the FORM here to your script:

Another good means for testing is setting "return" to point to your script. When using IPN, "return" is a FORM POST with all of the IPN variables.

Remember that you can make payments as small as $0.01 for testing as well as process refunds which credit back all fees.

I'll be working on a Single Item Purchase simulator for my own development work. I will be happy to share my results, but I am certain that I will have questions which I will continue to post here.

Thanks

Or you can change the "action" in your web accept code to point to: http://www.eliteweav...ing/ipntest.php instead of: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr and have your script run in a test mode that posts back to us?

We still have to add two more currencies and work on "_cart" submissions but a lot of developers are using it ;-)

A PayPal based test IPN system would be great though!

I've created a couple ASP pages that can be used to simulate PayPals IPN and test various scenarios on your local intranet. This way you can test your app BEFORE puttining it out on the Internet.

You can download them from my web page at http://www.groseth.net , then click on the link for Science and Computers.

You will probably have to do some modification for your particular needs.
