Hi,

I want to give my users the option to modify their subscription plan. The PayPal docs say to add the value modify=1 to the HTTP post, but this doesn't work, or is incomplete information - to start with, there's no provision for including the current subscription ID.

Is there anyone with experience in this that would care to shed some light on Paypal's somewhat vague and incomplete documentation?

Thanks.

The "modify" function is what you want. It's based off subscriptions the user has with you, the merchant, not a subscription ID. If they have multiple subscriptions with you, then they will be prompted to select which one they want to upgrade.

modify=
1: leads with modification but gives the option to add a subscription.
2: can only modify.
