Some time ago, I heard bad things said about using Paypal for UK businesses. I can't remember the specifics but got the impression that its handling of UK credit cards wasn't as good as it was for US credit cards.

Now that Paypal is coming to the Europe maybe this will all change.

Can someone out there explain what the original problem was and say whether it's likely to change when Paypal comes to Europe.

The problem was that previously paypal defaulted to the US address format & US credit cards ( ie excluding UK switch/delta cards ) when the customer was prompted to enter their details. Obviously this caused lots of problems. However this issue was fixed many months ago and has worked well since.

With Paypal now opening a separate European ( UK based ) operation I think they are showing they mean to target Europe even more agressively and that can only be good for the merchants I would hope.
