Has anyone successfully used a 3rd-Party ColdFusion-driven Cart with PayPal's IPN?

Although the IPN manual SPECIFICALLY states IPN can be SEAMLESSLY integrated with the Single Item Purchase (SIP) feature, when I use the SIP variables to send the information to PayPal, I get an "INVALID" response from the IPN response.

I read (and followed) the PayPal/EasyCFM example for verifying the IPN notification. However, it seemed as if it was a problem with merging SIP and IPN. I called PayPal and was told by Scott that SIP and IPN are incompatable. When asking for more information, I was told to come here and sent more information about putting SIP into my 3rd-Party cart. Yes, even after HE told me the two systems are incompatible. (So much for direct help from PayPal.)

MY NEEDS:
· The ability to add multiple items to a cart
· Ship it off to PayPal for payment
· Return the BUYER to my site so Session coding can take care of inventory, generate a receipt, and notify all parties.

If someone has built a custom cart -- especially if they are suggesting I purchase it -- I want to know which methods are used (ie:SIP, IPN, ect). I dont want to waste anyone's time. I have spent far too much time on all this already. And PayPal's blatant lack of support for their own product(s) is infuriating.

Any and all information and suggestions is highly appreciated.

Thanks.
