I too have an issue with using Zebra LP 2844 THERMAL PRINTER. Last week I printed labels and no problem. Last evening I tried printing a label with same printer once I purchased postage and label printed but font was so huge it look awful. On screen label looked fine and thought it was going to print the same way. Even today I still have same problem. Not sure what to do but this problem is happening about twice a year. It has cost me in past to get this resolved and I am getting very unhappy about it. It seems that someone at PAYPAL could tell me WHY font looks normal on screen but when I go to print the font and words are so much bigger that the label cannot be used. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I have reinstalled the driver and the problem still exists. PLEASE HELP ME.

Hi Arlene,

Has anyone made any changes to your printers-> properties->font settings since you last used it successfully?

Hope it helps, if not let us know.

No one has made changes to my printers-> properties->font settings since I last used it successfully. I used the same printer and settings last week to ship a parcel. Last evening I tried to print after purchasing postage off of Paypal and the label looked fine on the screen. However, when I printed it the font was bigger. Matter of fact it was so big I could not see all the details on the label. It was as thought the font size was causing that overlayed affect. What I would like to know is how to fix the problem so my label will print just like what I have see on the screen. My label printer is on a USB port all by iteself. So there is no need for me to make any changes when I want to print a label. All I do is purchase label from Paypal and go print. That is whay it suprised me that it worked fine last week and now this week it is doing this. Can you help me further?

Dont know what could be cuasing this problem we have been using our printer with paypal to ship using FEDEX, FEDEXGrnd and USPS with no problems other than the usual hangups in trying to to get paypal to connect to USPS, very frustrating always give the error, USPS is not available, try back later, or something like that. I contacted USPS and PayPal and they seem to point the finger towards one another, but that another issue. Sorry to rant.

We have our priner hooked to the LPT1 and not the USB it seems to work much better that way. Have you tried it with the parallel cable? I know its far fetched, but well worth a try.

Keep us posted!

There is also a font downloader for the LP2844 you may want to try, to see if it helps.

Hello, cant figure it out again. The sample lable at paypal prints perfect. But when I go to print the regular one very tiny images come out. And it promts what printer to use. Cant figure why it went craz

Yeah, no one said getting your Zebra printer to work would be easy...I am a rookie and it took me about two days to get it to work. Thats when I thought I should post my findings so that others would not have to suffer as much. I am happy to say that my Zebra UPS printer works for printing USPS, Fedex & Ground lables since my last post.
I love it, especially since I dont have to pay a third party software to print our stores shipping lables. You are correct dont forget to always reboot after installing any software, especially Java.

[br]You saved me lots of time. I got one of the Hippo printers, too. The key is to use the parallel printer cable to load the firmware. The Zebra firmware loading utility does not work.

It took me 5 minutes to get things working.

Thanks,

I've just purchased the old model Zebra LP 2443 from HippoDeals, I found out that the new model LP 2844 would be the replacement model. I have tried to configure the printing options, but I cant seem to get the label to print correctly. It's printing like I'm using the normal printer.

The Label shows the links where I'm printing from (top/bottom) and also the label is cut off, it doesn't fill the whole label. The printing has no problems.

I tried to look around for any configurations I need to change, but just can't seem to find it =/

Here's some info about what I have..

Model#: LP2443PSA
Product Version: v5.5.7.17
Language Monitor: 1.0.0.43
Driver: 1.0.0.35
Config File: lp2443.cfg
Paper Layout: Portrait
Paper Size: 4x6
Printer Text Font: Eltron Font 1

I am using the printer port LPT-1 to hook up the label printer.

I am printing the labels through PayPayl USPS Label with Zebra LP2844-Z - 4.0"x6.0" option.

I do have the latest Java installed.

I have tried contacting Zebra, but since this model is discontinued, they can't support it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Do you have the correct drivers installed? Download drivers here: http://s87221668.onlineh...us/ZUDv55717_Driver.exe (2.8 MB)

Did you let the printer set up the labels? While holding down the green button turn on the printer. This will cause the setup to run. When it has finished press the green button again to exit setup mode.

ok solved my own issue.. I did the auto sense and figured it would pick up that I was using 4x6 labels.. I guess not..

I eventually went to my printer properties...advanced tab -> clicked on printing defaults then changed the size and issue is fixed.. uggh..

Just set up my LP2844 and am trying to print out the USPS sample label. It won't print properly. As near as I can tell, the sample label is a 8.5" x 11" page with a label on the upper half and additional info on the bottom half. Obviously a 8.5" x 11" document won't print on a 4"x6" label......

But, isn't there any way to test the print out without actually making a purchase from USPS?

Thanks,

Carl

Hi Carl,

I would go to your printer settings and change the setting there, this will set up all your future printer defaults for this printer.
