Hi,

A couple days ago I have noticed the following bug, when I trying to enter the tracking information and order status, the PayPal website shows the following error:

Quote:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@paypal.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

As I can't reach on the phone anyone except robot, I have posted via web form this issue and I had the following useless reply:

Quote:

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

I understand that you are enquiring about printing a postage label on your
account.

If you are having difficulties printing a postage label, you might be
experiencing a minor technical issue. Please clear cache and cookies from
your computer or try to use a different browser when printing a label.

Cache or Temporary Internet files are used when you return to previously
viewed web pages. If you experience difficulty viewing a web page, the
cache may be corrupted. In addition, if you do not clear your cache files
regularly, you may experience longer loading or browser closing times.

In order to improve your performance on the web and specifically while
visiting our site, we suggest that you occasionally clear your cache.

Below are instructions describing how to clear caches of various browsers.
If your browser is not listed below, we suggest that you use the help
section of your browser or contact your service provider’s customer service
centre.

Clearing Cache and Cookies in Internet Explorer:

1. Open an Internet Explorer browser window.
2. Click ‘Tools’ at the top of the page.
3. Select ‘Internet Options’ from the drop down menu.
4. On the General tab, click the ‘Delete Files’ and ‘Delete Cookies’
buttons in the Temporary Internet Files section.
5. This will delete all the files currently stored in your cache and
cookies.

Clearing Cache and Cookies for Mozilla browser:

1. Open a new Mozilla Firefox browser window.
2. Click 'Tools' at the top of the page.
3. Click ‘Clear Private Data’ from the drop down menu.
4. Checkmark the data you wish to remove.
5. Click Clear ‘Private Data Now’.

****************

To print your postage label:

1. Log in to your account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Go to the 'Account Overview' page or click the 'History' tab near the
top of the page.
3. Find the relevant transaction and click ‘Print Postage Label’ in the
'Order status/Actions' column.
4. Complete the form.
5. After entering all your information for a package, you will be prompted
to print your postage label.
6. Once you have printed the label you will then be presented with a
‘Postage Label Completed’ screen. From here you can print a packing slip,
create multiple labels for the order, reprint or cancel the label, find
your nearest Post Office or return to your PayPal Account Overview page.

Please be sure to print your label straight away and use it within 24
hours.

You can even use this service if you receive a payment for an eBay item and
the customer did not pay with PayPal:

1. Log in to your 'My eBay' account
2. Find the item you want to post.
3. Under the 'Action' column of ‘Items I've Sold’, click on 'Print Postage
Label'.
4. Log in to PayPal to complete the label.

You can pay for postage labels with your PayPal account balance, with an
Instant Transfer from your bank account or with your credit card.

I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

Thank you for choosing PayPal.

in reply I have sent:

Thank you for your reply, but your instructions are useless, as I am
software developer and I know that the 500 Internal Server Error is
not caused by browser as it's server side issue.

Could you better pass this issue into 2 level
technical support or at least in IT department, as I know that you
never help (with your instructions), please?

The above is proof of the issue:

I am so glad that I found your post, alex, since I am having exactly the same problem. I also attempted to use the email support option and got the same useless reply. I really hope PayPal knows about this and is working on a fix because I really rely on these functions to know what I have shipped and what is still outstanding.

This is the first time I have ever experienced this issue, but at least I now know that it's not just happening to me.

Just got an answer from a helpful phone customer service agent who confirmed that it's a known issue that they're working on. They don't have any ETA on a fix.
